Publisher Alliance Arts has canceled the public demo for Drunken Goddess Reflux, originally scheduled for October 19, 2026. Instead, the team will organize closed online play sessions for a limited number of participants, citing concerns about AI-assisted imitation of the game’s presentation and gameplay.
The announcement comes just days before the demo’s planned release. Alliance Arts apologized to players who had been looking forward to trying the game and explained why it changed its plans.
The public demo was originally intended to launch with restrictions on sharing and streaming gameplay footage. However, the team concluded that it lacked the resources to properly manage those restrictions once the demo became publicly available.
A second concern involves the possibility of people using AI or other tools to rapidly reproduce elements of the game’s presentation and mechanics.
Alliance Arts will offer a limited number of players the chance to try the game through closed online sessions. Participants must review and agree to the participation requirements, including rules governing gameplay recordings, uploads, and livestreams, before taking part.
Applications are now open through the game’s official Discord server, where the team will also provide session details and instructions for joining.
Drunken Goddess Reflux will launch for PC via Steam on December 8, 2026.
