iPhone Users Are Getting an Upgrade to Their Cape Service

Cape just became an Apple Authorized Reseller. This is a big deal for us, not only because it enables us to sell iPhones directly from Apple, but also because Cape iPhone users will now enjoy a first-class experience.

That’s because, starting with iOS 27.2, released on October 26, 2026, Apple now bakes in a Cape “carrier bundle,” a small configuration package that tells an iPhone how to behave on our carrier network. For example, this carrier bundle allows IMSI rotation to work alongside Voice over WiFi and RCS messaging. Because Cape does things that no other carrier does, we had to do extra work with Apple to ensure that both basic functionality and unique privacy features work well with each other.

Here are some of the experiences that get unlocked by the carrier bundle:
