I woke up today to 5 links among the top Hacker News posts pointing to cyber incidents. Many people were quick to point out that this is just the start… or simply say, “get used to it and prepare”.

It’s a good day for cybersecurity startups and companies, as many teams, including mine, are discussing and planning how to adapt to this new world.

Given the accelerating pace of AI development, if nothing changes and we extrapolate this trend, we will likely see 10x more of these incidents within the next two months or so.

I was curious, so I used a few agents to help me put together a timeline of most of the known incidents in 2025 and 2026 that we can reasonably consider mostly AI-led cyberattacks.

I always like to view events on timelines, so here’s a summarised version. The more complete one, with a short summary and the source for each event, is on World in Timelines, a non-commercial side project of mine.
