BYD’s premium brand DENZA plans to introduce urban navigation assistance in Europe through an over-the-air update in 2027, starting with its Z9GT grand tourer. The company announced the upgrade to its God’s Eye driver-assistance system at the Paris Motor Show on October 12. The City Navigation on Driving Assistant feature is designed to handle point-to-point urban routes, including stopping at red lights, yielding at roundabouts, following speed limits and changing lanes around double-parked vehicles. DENZA said the required hardware is already fitted to the Z9GT. Software calibration and local adaptation are in their advanced stages, after which the company will seek approval under UN Regulation No. 171. Drivers will remain subject to monitoring of their gaze, head position and hands on the wheel. [Self Drive News]
