Chat in Bitcoin

Every message is its own Bitcoin transaction, sent once it is paid.

A face drawn in text. A patch bearing Satoshi’s name. A Latin prayer from a mining machine. Follow the traces people left inside Bitcoin.

A portrait disguised as addresses

A tribute to Len Sassaman, hidden in the bytes of Bitcoin addresses.

A patch in a transaction names Satoshi Nakamoto as its author, but anyone can write a name.

A miner wrote a prayer into the transaction that pays out the block reward.

Real records, verifiable traces. A name or a claim written into Bitcoin is not proof of its truth.

Announced in the chain, each prize checked against our own node.

Open one and play: each runs sealed off in a sandbox.

BEFORE YOU EXPLORE OR WRITE

The chronicle follows Bitcoin from the genesis block through miners’ messages, hidden files and OP_RETURN to Ordinals and other protocols. Available records depend on the current coverage of each index. You can inspect the source and block on a record’s detail page.

These are the formats our publishing guides cover. The editor shows which are currently enabled and their limits. Files are prepared for publication; always review the resulting copy, including image quality, video sound and document contents.

No. Pay by card through Stripe and we take care of the bitcoin part.

Content written to Bitcoin is public. It is not a private backup or a time-locked message. Only publish content you are comfortable making public and have the right to share.

It depends on the length of your message and on current Bitcoin network fees. You see the exact price before you pay, and nothing is charged until you approve it.

You can revise your message before approving it. The final inscription cannot be edited after it is written.
