Huawei has applied to register the OSTA trademark for products including smartphones, tablets, smart glasses and chips, according to trademark records reported by IT Home on November 4. The filing accompanies reports that Huawei is preparing a new smartphone sub-brand called Xingmang in Chinese, with OSTA as its English name. Chinese technology tipsters have identified an OSTA O1 Pro handset, with a purported packaging image showing a 16GB RAM and 1TB storage configuration. Huawei has also applied for the Xingmang trademark. The company has not formally announced the brand or its first devices. [IT Home, in Chinese]
