ByteDance merges TraeWork and TraeCode into unified TRAE platform

ByteDance has combined its office AI agent TraeWork and coding tool TraeCode into a unified TRAE platform, bringing task planning, content creation and software development into one application. Announced on October 9, the update lets users switch between Agent mode for managing tasks across projects and IDE mode for detailed coding and debugging. The platform supports desktop, web and mobile access, allowing users to start tasks on a computer and follow their progress or add instructions from a phone. Existing TraeWork users can migrate their chat history, account information and local data through an in-app upgrade. The standalone TraeWork service will shut down on October 23. [TRAE, in Chinese]
