ByteDance is reducing the size of Doubao’s general Session team by about half, according to a LatePost report. The team previously had roughly 50 people and handled chat-product strategy and evaluation. Some employees will move to Doubao’s monetization and Feishu teams, while others may be laid off. Doubao’s Product Posttrain-Chat team is also being reduced as demand for dialogue-related work eases. The changes come after Doubao surpassed 200 million daily active users, although the company is still optimizing the chat experience rather than abandoning it. [TechNode reporting]
