Global handheld smart-camera shipments rose 57% year over year to more than 5.88 million units in the second quarter of 2026, while market revenue approached RMB 15.7 billion, according to an IDC report. DJI accounted for 73% of shipments, while Insta360 held 20%, giving the two Chinese companies a combined 93% share. Gimbal-camera shipments grew 87%, while detachable action-camera shipments increased more than 300%. IDC expects annual handheld smart-camera shipments to approach 41 million units by 2030.
